Your whole-house generator will need a large quantity of fuel for back-up to support your household for longer time periods.Site Placement: A standby generator will be installed outside of your home or business and placed at least five feet away from doors, windows, vents, and flammable material. There will also be at least three feet of open space in front of your generator that is needed room for servicing.
